I Like FNIRSI Products. I was excited when I saw the First Advert for this SMART DMM and I HAD to get my hands on one and Evaluate it.
It's a Nice, Convenient Size, easily fits into a Pocket, and is Easy to Hold. There's some Energy Absobing Plastic around the Meter, and it's fairly Light, so it shouldn't suffer dame from small drops.
It has EVERYTHING an Engineer or Serious Hobbyist would Desire - EXCEPT - it has NO CURRENT RANGES !!!
While I admit that the VAST MAJORITY of readings taken by a DMM are of VOLTAGE, followed probably by RESISTANCE (or rather CONTINUITY), I was Quite Shocked to find NO Current Ranges.
At least there's NO CHANCE of plugging the Probes into the WRONG Sockets, coz there's only 2 of them !
But the Meter Does seem to have EVERYTHING ELSE well Covered.
I like the VERY SENSITIVE NCV, which gives a Green Signal and Beeping when you are quite some distance from a Live Wire which changes to a RED Warning as you get closer.
I think it is VERY GOOD QUALITY & VALUE.

It's funny how things we have come to Expect, sometimes are missing. I'm evaluating a SMART NEW DMM from ANENG and it must be the first DMM in Years that HASN'T got a Back Rest, so that when working on a Test Bench you can tilt it back for easier reading - as in the Picture for the FNIRSI MT-40

This meter does not measure current. However, for a beginning hobbyist, the continuity buzzer is much more useful. The unit is conveniently small, but the display is large. NCV is a nice safety feature. I had some difficulty with the flashlight and the backlit display, but the main features are easy to use and work well. Connections on the front make it easier to prop up the unit on a desk. True RMS seems overkill at this price level This fits my needs, but I would not call it a general purpose tool without a current function. Make sure it meets all your needs.
